Pricey, a few design issues, but works well so far, March 13, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Redpark 6ft. Serial Cisco Console Cable, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch (Wireless Phone Accessory) Changing my rating from two to four stars since I have been able to use the product a bit more and find that it works well.
Once acquainted with the nuances of the GetConsole interface, this too is working as expected, but
I will still share a few initial observations:
* For $59.99 plus $7.99 shipping, I expected something that felt sturdy and well-assembled. This cable is very thin and somewhat flimsy, which makes me question how well it will perform over time. Compared to the typical serial console cable that ships with most switches, and the numerous other IOS device cables I have purchased, this unit seems like it will not last very long. It is not well insulated and does not seem to be protected from any accidental damage that may result from bending, coiling, etc.
* The cable plugs into an iPhone or an iPad provided you remove most cases or covers. I have the thinnest possible cover for my iPad2, but still had to remove the back plate... Read more
