Otterbox Defender for Blackberry Playbook, May 4, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Otterbox Blackberry Playbook Defender, Black (RBB2-PLYBK-20-E4OTR) (Personal Computers) Each person has his or her own level of tolerance for risk when it comes to protecting their equipment. I'm not a paranoid person but when I'm spending several hundred dollars I want maximum protection. This case provides that protection. It does add a bit of weight to the Playbook but certainly not so much that I'd feel weighted down.
I'd like to point out a few features of the Otterbox Defender case that are exceptional. First and foremost is the maximum protection it provides for the Playbook. In addition to the protection it provides,and not presented in any particular order, are other features:
* A screen protector-the included protector doesn't affect the clarity of the video; nor does it affect the touch. The gestures work as they did without the screen protection.
* All the control buttons on the top and the inputs on the bottom of the Playbook are protected with a thin rubber-like material. The controls on top are easily pressed and the inputs on... Read more

Actually, this case is fantastic in my opinion. Opinion aside, this case will provide great protection for your tablet. There are 3 layers to this case. The first layer is two sides of hard plastic that covers the front and back of the tablet. This first layer has a built in screen protector so you do not need to continually buy and switch screen protectors. One thing to know about this layer is that when you keep the halves together for a while it will be a litte difficult getting them apart.
The second layer is some kind of rubber material. The name of the material is on the packaging but I do not have the packaging at this time. This layer goes over the first layer and covers the back and sides of the playbook. The third layer, my favorite, can cover the front or back of the playbook and also doubles, or triples, as a stand. Good product, just adds so much weight and bulk, February 5, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Otterbox Blackberry Playbook Defender, Black (RBB2-PLYBK-20-E4OTR) (Personal Computers) I can see myself using this for when I deploy, or am out on some crazy adventures where I might need some tablet usage with my playbook but as am everyday case you are simpley too paranoid to use this case for wokring around in an office area or even with the kids in my opinion. If you game is to turn your kids off from using your playbook because of the weight, thats awesome things are starting to look up for you. All in all it is a Otterbox case. It will be dependable and sturdy and you will know that the unit inside will be protected but for everyday use I think your better off with getting a case that isnt to bad on the eyes or the body. Get another case if this case was ment as your only playbook protection.
