Slow on T-Mobile., April 3, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Samsung GT-P6200 Galaxy Tab 7.0 (Plus) 16GB, 3G, 3MP, 1.2GHz dual-core, 3.2 Honeycomb 7-Inch Unlocked World Tablet PC (Black) (Wireless Phone Accessory) I bought this tablet because I thought it was model GT-P6200 as that is what the title says. In reality, it was GT-P6200L which has a few important differences. The first is that it did NOT use 3G on the T-Mobile network. Maybe it does on other networks. Perhaps "Unlocked World Tablet PC" was the code-phrase that should have warned me. I was able to use it on the slower "Edge" speeds and make phone calls, but was not able to get 3G or HSPA speeds. I found some promising forum posts that I may have been able to fix this with a modem firmware flash. I'm not sure if that would void the warranty. The other difference is that it does NOT have an IR port, which is something I was looking forward to from the GT-P6200.
I think I could have made this tablet work for me, but it wasn't what I was expecting "out of the box". As a tablet on Wi-Fi, it worked great. It was OK on Edge for email and instant messaging. Web browsing and GPS at edge-speeds was usable in a pinch, but... Read more
