Otterbox Defender Series Hybrid Case for HTC Flyer and EVO View 4G (HTC2-FLYER-20-E4OTR) Reviews
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Saved my Evo View twice in two weeks!, January 5, 2012 By This review is from: Otterbox Defender Series Hybrid Case for HTC Flyer and EVO View 4G (HTC2-FLYER-20-E4OTR) (Personal Computers) Admittedly, I am not the most graceful person so having this Otterbox Defender Series Case for my tablet was absolutely necessary. Very easy to install, and Otterbox offers a really easy to follow video on their website or on youtube: [...]
At first the silicone seemed a tiny, tiny bit loose around the inner lip but I believe it was from the stretching you do to put it on. After a day or two no problems there. The pop up stand can be a little flimsy when typing for extended periods of time. But aside from that it has already saved me from one drop and one rather large spill (an entire full 10 oz cup of tea on the table right beside it, and some splashing onto the face. I only had the silicone on the back not the outer hard shell. No leaks, no damage, after wiping it off I took the silicone cover off to make sure no liquid got in, low and behold, dry as ever!!!
Having the multi-use hard plastic cover has also been a life saver, being able to toss it in my work bag... Read more
5 of 6 people found the following review helpful Strong but ruins the Flyer's purpose, January 10, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Otterbox Defender Series Hybrid Case for HTC Flyer and EVO View 4G (HTC2-FLYER-20-E4OTR) (Personal Computers) This case feels great compared to all the cheap faux leather slim cases sold on amazon and ebay. I felt very comfortable putting my flyer in a backpack with the 3 layers of plastic, rubber, and more hard plastic.
However, all that bulk comes with a price. The raised edges around the screen make writing with the scribe pen frustrating and difficult.
You should buy this case if you intend to use the flyer/evo view as a normal tablet and not for writing or drawing.
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Bulky, But Effective Protection, February 22, 2012 By Ben C.A. Nettle (The Last Frontier) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Otterbox Defender Series Hybrid Case for HTC Flyer and EVO View 4G (HTC2-FLYER-20-E4OTR) (Personal Computers) I am quite careful with my electronics, but accidents happen, and I have a toddler that does not share my respect for tablets. This case was purchased for a number of reasons, primarily drops and protection from liquids.
This case does serve its purpose well. The snap together guards the sides, the silicone outer wrap holds it together, and the screen hard cover all go well together to create an impressive fortress for your Evo View. But it comes with the cost of bulk.
The Evo View is a fairly heavy 7" tablet, so I can understand the idea that it requires additional size to protect it. It almost looked ridiculous when I first put the case on. With just the snap together and silicone sleeve, it's fairly manageable, but a little goofy looking. After using it for a month, I almost prefer the size now, as the lip it creates makes it easier to hang on to one handed, versus the weird bevel/rounding without the case. The Scribe Pen still works fairly well with... Read more
